After serving the Lord for 14 years teaching in the Christian school and helping Mexican pastors train church leaders using Theological Education by Extension (TEE) Bible study materials, Tecate Mission International members Carl and Cathy Olson began prison ministry in Wisconsin correctional institutions in 2004, targeting Latinos who are incarcerated. Their goal is to give Spanish-speaking offenders the opportunity to hear and respond to the message of salvation through Jesus in their heart language. They use TEE materials to do
in-prison Bible studies, lead worship services and do discipleship pastoral visits. A strategic open door has been weekly ministry at Dodge Correctional, the processing center for inmates from every county jail in the state. During the assessment time there, inmates can hear the Gospel at Spanish Bible study, then the Olsons follow up with those interested when they are sent to many other prisons to serve their sentences. Please pray for prisoners to trust Christ as Savior and grow into faithful followers through studying the Word of God, prayer and fellowship. The Olsons also network with aftercare ministries who aid prisoners when released so that they can be restored to their families and communities.
